What is The Virginia Miller House?

The Virginia Miller House programs are each 3-5 bed interim care facilities geared towards behavior modification of difficult to place teen girls ages 12-17. Its founder coming from a foster care background, first as a foster child and later as a foster parent. It was then identified that there was a huge need for a place that helps teens stabilize and learn productive skills. We will work hard with the teen on reuniting them with their families or even permanent foster care placement.

The Virginia Miller House is a non-profit organization with a diverse board of directors all sharing the common wish to improve the lives of young people.

The Goal

The goal of The Virginia Miller House Program is to help residents (and their family, when appropriate) stabilize their behavior, begin to understand the cause of it, learn better ways of expressing their feelings, learn new, healthier behaviors, and eventually move onto a permanent home. The staff at The Virginia Miller House are trained to help the youth and families with these issues.

The Virginia Miller House has a short-term program which is 30 days to 6 months as well as a long-term program which is up to 18 months, depending upon the needs of the resident and the availability of a permanent placement.
