The Virginia Miller House was founded to continue the legacy of a wonderful woman named Virginia Miller. This project is very special to its founder, Trina Jacobs, because Virginia Miller (Big Mama) was her foster mother, providing her interim care, when she was eleven years old. Although just being placed with Big Mama for six months, she was indeed the mother Trina always wished for.
"Big Mama showed me unconditional love, and although she refused to come to my rescue when I made bad choices, I could always count on her love and encouragement to accomplish whatever I wanted, as long as I could deal with the consequences of my actions", Says Trina.
Virginia Miller went home to be with the Lord on February 14, 1999 & l am certain she is smiling down on the Virginia Miller House with warm approval. Big Mama gave over 43 years of dedicated service to her foster children. You don't have to look far to see her success. Big Mama has impacted the lives of hundreds foster children who have gone on to become successful in their lives. In fact, they could be your doctor, DSHS social worker, lawyer or realtor, she has touched them all!
