In order to maintain a safe, respectful environment, the following are the rules that all residents are expected to abide by:
Major House Rules
No violence, threats of violence or intimidation (any incidents of this nature may be reported to police.)
No alcohol or drug use of any kind.
Possession of any type of weapon is forbidden.
Residents must be in the presence of staff at all times, unless given permission to do otherwise.
Sexual activity with another resident is forbidden.
Other Rules
Respectful behavior and language toward other residents and toward staff are expected.
No cigarette smoking.
No borrowing or trading of personal property with another resident, unless you have obtained specific staff permission.
Residents are not allowed in other residents’ rooms without staff permission.
Residents must be appropriately dressed when in public areas of the house.
No sagging pants, provocative clothing, gang-related clothing, or clothing that advertises drugs or alcohol.
Residents must not leave the premises without permission from staff.
Personal items such as musical instruments, radios, computers, etc., may be kept in individual bedrooms at the staff’s discretion, and at the resident’s own risk.Residents must understand that staff is not responsible for the theft of any property.Valuable items may be locked up by staff for safekeeping.
Glass items are not allowed in the bedrooms to protect the residents’ safety; also, potentially dangerous items such as razors, lighters and matches are not allowed in bedrooms.
All residents are expected to attend individual, family and group therapy as advised by their Social Worker.
All residents are expected to follow treatment guidelines, including medical guidelines, as directed in their treatment plan.
All residents are expected to attend weekly house meetings, and to participate in a cooperative, respectful manner.
Disagreements, whenever possible, should be handled with the person with whom you have a conflict.If agreement cannot be reached, it is appropriate to ask counseling staff for help with mediation.
All residents are expected to attend school regularly, and to complete homework as assigned.
All residents are expected to participate in maintaining the cleanliness and healthy climate of the house by keeping their rooms clean, and by doing assigned chores.
